If you are a Swisscom enterprise customer and you rely on Invoice Reporting for your reporting or cost-allocation, then this change can have a major impact on your process since you will need to adapt your application for the new files.
Our tool RDSconverter can help you for a smooth transition, providing you with the new files in advance so you can adapt your application and be ready when the migration occurs.
Swisscom is migrating all customers in phases
You will be informed few months in advance when the migration will occur for your company.
Before the migration, you get only the “old” files. After the migration, you get only the “new” files. This means your application must be ready to accept the new files when the migration occurs, otherwise this may impact your reporting or cost-allocation process.
Major difference between the old and the new billing files
The “old” billing files (as of march 2026) originate from the portal “Invoice Reporting” and are called “Invoice Reporting Raw Data”
The “new” billing files (as of ???) originate from the portal “Billing & Analytics” and will have a fully different structure & content.
Technical specifications
Swisscom can provide you with a Technical Documentation describing the structure & content of the new files.
However, you will not receive a sample of your new files before the migration. This means you must carefully adapt your application and you have no way to test it before it goes in production when you get migrated. And in case it doesn’t work, you can not get the old files to keep going with the old version of your application.
This is why we thought it could be useful to build RDSconverter, a tool which can convert both ways and can help for a smooth transition, as illustrated by the pictures hereafter.
1) PREVIEW (before migration)
Use your OLD application for production, with your OLD files provided by Swisscom
Use RDSconverter to see how your NEW files will look like
Together with the Technical Documentation, this can give you a better idea of the new files and the work needed to adapt your application.
2) PRE-DEVELOPMENT (before migration)
Use your OLD application for production, with your OLD files provided by Swisscom
Develop your NEW application with your NEW files generated by RDSconverter
RDSconverter takes your “old” files and generates the “new” files with the same content but the new structure. When developping your application, you can compare the new output to ensure it matches the current output produced by the “old” application. This is far better than using just sample data for the development.
3) POST-DEVELOPMENT (after migration)
Use your OLD Application for production with your OLD files generated by RDSconverter
Finish development of your NEW Application with your NEW files provided by Swisscom
From the moment you get migrated, you will receive the new files only. With RDSconverter, you can continue using your old application in case you need more time for your development or if you experience any problem with the new files provided by Swisscom.
RDSconverter: how it works, pre-requisites, what you get from us
RDSconverter is a “PowerBI Desktop” application. To use it, you need to have the application “PowerBI Desktop” installed on a Windows desktop.
